Electronic Warfare has been, and remains, a
critical enabling capability in military operations
in peace and war. With the evolution of digital and
computer technology, EW, IO and related
disciplines are increasingly necessary to achieve
situational awareness, knowledge superiority,
strategic and tactical dominance and force and
platform protection in both offensive and
defensive operations.
Today the AOC has over 13,000 members from 47
countries, including 65 Chapters from 19
countries. With its headquarters in Alexandria,
Virginia, it has an annual budget of approximately
US $ 2.4M and 13 permanent staff.
All the members receive a free monthly copy of
the outstanding Journal of Electronic Defense
(JED) and can attend meetings, workshops and
conferences either Free or at reduced rates.
Members are kept informed of all India Chapter
Activities through regular e-news letter.
The India Chapter praposes to arrange a varied programme
of activities throughout the year including
presentations from the experts in the field of
Electronic Warfare and holds classified symposia
in collaboration with DRDO, the Armed Forces,
Defence Production Agencies and Industry. |

The AOC covers the entire electromagnetic
environment supporting military operations and
homeland defence covering land, sea, air and
space environments. AOC's involvement spans the
process of R&D, T&E, Procurement, Concept
Development, Policy, Operations and Sustainability.
During World War II Allied Electronic
Countermeasures (ECM) Operators, tasked to
disrupt enemy communications and radars, were
given the code name ‘Raven’ to provide a degree
of security to their existence. After WW II,
Military Jargon subsequently changed the name of

The AOC India Chapter was established on 10
February 2010 with a vision to promote the Electronic Warfare activity in India. We welcome
all ranks of Armed services, Defence Production Agencies, Industry, Research
Establishments and Academia to become the members.
